1 1/2 weeks ago I began my CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) which is said to be the best way to get rid off GAD and Social Phobia.

My first session was to go and have a coffee with my therapist at a cafe,. I felt very nervous and anxious but after a while the anxiety actually went down. The other two sessions has been riding the subway and eating lunch at a restaurant. Apart from the sessions with the therapist I also have to expose myself to the situations that trigger the anxiety for approx 2 hours / day.

I already feel a lot better and hopefully the CBT when completed will mark the end of me 18 months of illness.

One of the reasons I left old $job was to realize an software idea of mine. The plan has always been that it will be released as open-source (not sure under what license tho) mostly because I'm a firm beliver in the open-source movement and there's no way I can singlehanded come up or even think about all the cool ways people will use the system or the extensions they'll develop for it.

I've just recently started to actually write code on the project and now the big question is: when do I announce what I'm working on? should there be something to show or would a write-up of my vision be enough?

Baking your own bread give you lots of satisfaction. Here is a recipe for breakfast buns that I make regularly:

50 g yeast
5 dl water (at about 30°C)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons mixed bread-spices (aniseed, cumin and fennel)
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 dl sesame seed
1 dl lin seed
1 dl sunflower seed
3 dl rye flour
10 - 12 dl wheat flour (special wheat flour that contains extra proteins)

Solve the yeast in the water and then mix together all other ingredients (add flour last) well and knead the dough for some 5 minutes or so. If the dough is too sticky you can add a bit more wheat flour. Let it ferment covered for about 1 - 1/2 hours. Now knead the dough again and then make 16-18 buns from it. Let them rise under a towel on the plates for another hour. Bake in the owen for about 6-8 minutes per plate at 250°C. The buns are ready when they sound hollow and are golden brown on the underside.

These buns contains lots of fibers and other stuff that will keep your intestines happy.

Happy baking!

I've been having stomach problems pretty much every day for the past year with symptoms such as nausea and reflux. After several visits to different doctors and doing all kinds of testing they couldn't find any medical fault so I finally accepted the fact that the problems resided in my head 3 months ago. I talked to my doctor and we came to the conclusion that I suffered from severe anxiety. How and why I've been struck by it I don't know. Possibly because I had a little too much to do on my table. In order to cure this my doctor prescribed SSRI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citalopram) and I've been eating them now for 2 months and I'm starting to feel better. I've also begun going to a counselor to talk about my problems.

I hope 2007 will be a fresh restart for me.

Happy new year!
